5. Structure & Working Principle

5.1 Overall Structure Composition

ZW7-40.5 vacuum circuit breaker mainly consists of three independent poles, optional current transformers and integrated spring operating mechanism. When connected with an intelligent controller, local switching operation can be realized. Remote control and real-time data upload to central control room are available via optical communication ports and multiple transmission media.

5.2 Vacuum Arc Extinguishing Principle

The equipment adopts high-performance vacuum interrupters for arc extinction and insulation. An electric arc generates between moving and static contacts during breaking operation. The special contact structure forms vertical magnetic field in contact clearance, spreading the arc evenly on contact surfaces to maintain low arc voltage. When AC current crosses zero, residual ions, electrons and metal vapor inside the interrupter rapidly recombine and condense on contact and shield surfaces. Dielectric strength recovers instantly to extinguish the arc completely, realizing reliable circuit breaking. The vertical magnetic field arc control system ensures consistent and powerful short-circuit breaking capacity.

5.3 Energy Storage & Operation Mechanism

  1. Motor Energy Charging

    Motor torque drives small gear, transmits power to main shaft large sprocket, rotates knee arm to compress and charge closing spring. The limit switch cuts off motor power automatically once charging completes.

  2. Manual Energy Charging

    Rotate manual operation shaft to transfer torque through gear set, drive knee arm and finish closing spring charging manually.

  3. Electromagnetic Closing Operation

    After receiving closing signal, closing electromagnetic core lifts to shift release lever, rotates closing half shaft counterclockwise and unlocks closing latch. Cam impacts swing arm and transmits force through connecting rod to complete closing action. Manual closing function works with the same mechanical logic via shifting fork rotation.

  4. Auto Reclosing Function

    After spring energy release and closing completion, the mechanism recharges automatically. Under energy-charged closing state, the breaker can perform one-time auto-reclosing once receiving valid reclosing signal.

  5. Electromagnetic Opening Operation

    Upon opening signal input, opening electromagnetic core pushes release lever upward to rotate opening half shaft, unlocking opening latch. Driven by opening spring, swing arm rotates counterclockwise to finish opening. Manual opening shares identical mechanical principle via shifting fork.
