3. Structural & Dimension Drawing Description
Each FCGW-40.5 bushing specification includes three engineering drawings for client design reference:
- Overall full-length dimension drawing: Mark total length, indoor/outdoor creepage section length, copper busbar through-hole size
- Square mounting flange outline drawing: Standard fixed hole spacing and wall opening reserved size
- End cross-section drawing: Matched copper conductor thickness for different rated currents
Two Specification Series Design Logic
- Medium Current Series (400A–1600A)
Shorter indoor creepage design, suitable for conventional 40.5kV switch rooms with standard wall thickness, cost-effective for general distribution feeders.
- Heavy Current Series (2000A–4000A)
Extended indoor creepage distance, thicker copper conductive core, lower temperature rise under full load, specially designed for main incoming lines and heavy-load power transmission circuits.
4. Application Scenarios
- 35kV/40.5kV indoor & outdoor power distribution substations
- 40.5kV high voltage metal-clad switchgear cabinets
- Transformer room wall penetration insulation isolation
- Mining, metallurgy heavy industrial high-power power supply systems
- Wind farm, solar PV station 35kV booster cabinet power transmission
- Urban power grid upgrading, prefabricated compact substation projects
5. Standard Installation Guidance
- Reserve square wall opening according to flange drawing dimensions during civil wall construction.
- Pass the bushing through the wall opening, align flange mounting holes with pre-embedded wall bolts.
- Tighten fixing nuts evenly to keep the bushing vertical to the partition wall.
- Connect indoor and outdoor copper busbars to both ends of the conductive core; apply anti-oxidation conductive grease at contact joints to reduce heating.
- Inspect silicone rubber surface for cracks or damage before energization; keep creepage surface clean and free of dust accumulation.

7. Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the difference between medium current and heavy current FCGW-40.5 bushings?
A: The main difference lies in creepage distance and conductive copper core thickness. 400A–1600A models have shorter indoor creepage for ordinary feeders; 2000A–4000A models adopt longer indoor creepage and thicker copper core to control temperature rise under high continuous load. All two series share the same total height of 1020mm for unified civil construction.
Q2: Can this bushing be used in coastal salt fog environment?
A: Yes. The composite silicone rubber has strong hydrophobicity and anti-salt-fog performance, suitable for coastal areas, chemical factories and high-pollution industrial zones.
Q3: Is this product oil-type or dry-type? What are its safety advantages?
A: Full dry composite structure without any insulating oil inside. It eliminates risks of oil leakage, fire and explosion, which is much safer for indoor compact switch rooms compared with traditional oil-filled wall bushings.
Q4: Can you provide CAD dimension drawings and test reports?
A: We can supply editable CAD drawings, complete technical datasheets and factory test certificates free of charge upon client request. Third-party type test reports are available for project bidding.
